About the product
Little Snitch is a powerful and popular network firewall (firewall) for macOS. Its main job is to protect your Mac and monitor all outgoing connections.
Unlike a standard firewall that simply blocks incoming connections, Little Snitch monitors which programs are trying to send data online. When you first run any program that wants to go online, Little Snitch shows a notification and asks the user permission to allow or block the connection. This allows:
· Protect privacy: The program can warn if an app tries to send your personal data without your knowledge.
· Block surveillance: You can prevent programs from contacting advertising and analytics servers.
· Monitor traffic: You always see which apps are actively using the internet.
· Save traffic: You can block background updates or license checks in unnecessary apps.
In simple words, Little Snitch is an "exit watchman" who asks you, "Program X wants to send data to the Y server. Allowed?"
