This is the second part of the Mass Effect series and is a direct sequel to the first game. It takes place in the Milky Way galaxy in the XXII century, when humanity, while exploring space, encounters a hostile alien species - Collectors controlled by the Reapers. The main character is Captain Shepard, an experienced officer of the Earth's Space Fleet. On behalf of the Cerberus organization, he assembles a team of specialists (both humans and aliens) to fight the Collectors. Players have the ability to transfer the save from the previous part, thus influencing the plot of the game.
