The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of tense, cinematic horror games with a branching storyline where your decisions determine how events unfold. House of Ashes is the third game in the series.

Iraq, 2003. The conflict is coming to an end, and a military detachment accompanied by CIA agent Rachel King is tasked to check a potential chemical weapons factory at the foot of Zagros Mountain. Upon arrival, the search party is ambushed by a local patrol commanded by Sergeant Salim Othman. During the battle, an earthquake causes a hole to form in the surface and the two squads find themselves in the buried ruins of a Sumerian temple, where something sinister has awakened in the darkness. The ancient insatiable creatures have new prey.
