Age of Empires is a series of real-time strategy video games originally released in 1997 by Ensemble Studios. The series is based on historical events in Europe, Africa and Asia, such as the expansion of the Roman Empire, the Spanish conquest of Mexico and the colonization of the Americas and Asia. In fact, it was one of the first history-based strategy games ever made! Since its release, the game has flourished and survived into three parts, as well as several spin-offs. Age of Empires IV is the fourth installment in the eagerly awaited series by players, developed by Relic Entertainment. The game brings real-time strategy gaming to the next generation with its 4K visuals and expansive landscapes.

Medieval battlefield
Age of Empires IV is set in the medieval period, with each of 4 campaigns and 35 missions covering events spanning five hundred years. Players will be able to lead one of 8 different civilizations, such as the British, Mongols, Chinese, Delhi Sultanate, Abbasid Dynasty and French. However, Relic does not stop there and plans to further expand civilizations. The gameplay for each of them is slightly different as the developers have taken care to take into account their individual weaknesses and strengths, making the gameplay unique. Between each mission, a short documentary is shown, bringing players closer to the historical background of the game and the adventures to come.

Additionally, the game features historical figures such as French heroine and icon Joan of Arc, which players were already able to impersonate during the Age of Empires II campaign.

Build your own empire
Embark on an adventure, build magnificent fortresses and lead your troops to battlefields on both land and sea, expanding your empire along the way. Explore the past and develop strategic skills. The new feature of hiding your troops in the forest allows you to set traps for your enemies and attack their base camp undetected. Moreover, the latest defense walls update allows you to not only defend your empire, but also place your forces on top of them to protect your fortress.
