Inspired by the art and architecture of Franconia in the late 14th century, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it for both game mechanics and visuals. Common medieval stereotypes are avoided in favor of historical accuracy, so that the world seems more authentic, colorful and believable.

Manor Lords provides random city building with complete freedom of placement and rotation. The building mechanics are inspired by the growth of real medieval towns and villages, where major trade routes and the landscape influenced the formation and development of settlements.

Expanding from a central market, build your residential, commercial, and industrial areas following the natural terrain. Create farms based on soil fertility, place hunting areas according to animal populations, and ensure access to sufficient resource reserves and forests to provide the raw materials needed for growth.
Assign housing plots and watch as your villagers build their homes according to the historical plunder plot system. Each area will be divided based on your roads and allocated space, and houses will scale accordingly.
Build outbuildings behind larger homes to generate resources that would otherwise be unavailable.
