Eyes of the Naiad

Long ago, a priest of the god of the seas stole two sacred stones from the temple, which were inserted into the eye sockets of a statue of a nymph, one of the daughters of Poseidon. The insulted god cursed the thief, and at the same time the stolen stones, and decreed that anyone who would own them would soon die a terrible death. The text of the curse was forever imprinted inside the stones, and no one could read it, because they did not know the language in which it was written.

To St. Petersburg housewife Nadezhda Lebedeva, this story would have seemed far-fetched and only fit for a tabloid novel, if a broken earring with one of the sacred stones had not fallen into her hands. From that moment on, troubles around Nadezhda began to follow one after another. Is this the intervention of unknown forces or a banal hunt for jewelry? Nadezhda is determined to solve the next riddle that fate has thrown her.
