Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) is the first game developed in collaboration with the Inupiat, a Native people of Alaska. Nearly 40 elders, storytellers, and members of the Alaska Native community took part in the development of the game. Play as a young Inupiat girl and an Arctic fox who set out to find the source of an eternal blizzard that threatens the survival of everything they have ever known.
Control both characters in single-player mode or play cooperatively with a friend or family member as you traverse the frozen tundra, leap treacherous ice floes, swim through underwater ice caves, and encounter numerous enemies both strange and familiar as you journey to save the girl’s village.
In this atmospheric puzzle platformer, you’ll explore dramatic locations, perform heroic deeds, and encounter legendary characters from Iñupiaq lore, all narrated in spoken Iñupiaq by a master storyteller.
Features
Play as both Nunu and the fox – switch between the two companions at any time with the press of a button, or play side-by-side in local co-op, relying on each character’s unique skills to succeed in your quest. Nuna can climb ladders and ropes, move heavy obstacles, and throw her bolas at targets to solve puzzles. Fox can squeeze through small areas that Nuna can’t reach, climb walls, and leap great heights.
Brave the harsh Arctic world - run under, through, and on top of the unstable structures of an abandoned coastal village. Explore the eerily silent treetops of a mysterious, ice-covered forest. Brave the fierce winds of an eternal blizzard. Only with the help of Spirit Guides will Nuna and Fox have a chance to survive in a land where survival is impossible.
