This content introduces the Mexicans as a playable civilization for the first time in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. The Mexican civilization provides a wide range of new content, including: two new explorers, a unique revolution mechanic, 8 units, 2 buildings, and a new home city with supply cards specific to the Mexicans, as well as a brand new historical battle, “Grito de Dolores”. Additionally, the Mexican Age mechanic allows you to develop your civilization by choosing from different nations, giving you special supply cards and bonuses to suit any playstyle.
Grito de Dolores Historical Battle - As the Bourbon Reforms gave the Spanish elite more power and reduced the power of the Church, resentment grew among the rural population of Mexico. When news of Napoleon Bonaparte's conquest of Spain reached America, the words of a Catholic priest ignited the sparks of revolution.
