Far Cry Primal takes you back to the Stone Age, when man was definitely not at the top of the food chain. Danger lurked around every corner during the daytime, and night time brought a new set of horrors. It is on the pristine land of Oros that you meet Thakkar, the sole survivor of an ambush on his hunting party. Now on his own in a treacherous world, Thakkar will face massive mammoths, wild saber-toothed tigers, hostile groups of rival hunters and countless other threats as he tries to reunite his lost tribe.
Like any good hunter, Thakkar has an extensive set of survival skills, including the ability to create tools and weapons from the bones of animals he kills and the resources he collects in the wild. Not only are they critical to his own safety against predators (both humans and animals), they are also essential to maintaining the safety of his tribe. Takkar will need to closely guard his young group to ensure its survival and growth.
Like every Far Cry before it, Far Cry Primal takes place in a vast open world, and Takkar's adventure will take him through a series of landscapes ranging from swamps to sparse cedar forests, and when night falls in Oros, fire may be the only thing standing between Takkar and a particularly sharp set of teeth or a jagged tip of a spear. The use of fire is perhaps as important, if not more important, than the weapons of takkar crafts. In addition to using it for defense at night, it can use it for additional tactical options when attacking animals or penetrating enemy outposts.
