The kingdom of Myrtana was besieged by hordes of merciless orcs. Producing powerful weapons required vast quantities of magical ore, so King Rhobar II exiled all prisoners to the mines of Khorinis. To prevent escape, the monarch ordered the kingdom's finest mages to cast a barrier. But something went wrong; the spell went out of control, trapping everyone within this magical shield. The prisoners revolted and seized control of the colony, turning it into a kingdom of notorious criminals.
