No Step Back is a new expansion for the grand strategy game Hearts of Iron IV, in which Paradox Interactive explores the crisis of the 1930s and the subsequent World War II. The expansion offers in-depth gameplay for Eastern European countries, unique mechanics reflecting the state of affairs in the Soviet Union, and numerous military innovations.
With Hearts of Iron IV: No Step Back, the game will feature:
• New national focuses for the USSR. The communist government is plagued by mistrust and intrigue, but the country's leader can be opposed by the opposition and, if desired, even restore the monarchy.
• New national focuses for Poland. Rewrite Polish history: assemble a new government, strengthen the military, or support a popular pro-Soviet uprising.
• New national focuses for the Baltics. General and separate alternate history plots for Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
• Army officer corps. The right selection of General Staff officers will help you capitalize on new technologies and tactical advances.
• Morale. Emphasize specific characteristics of your troops by strengthening specific units or changing squad composition.
• Updated supply system. The set of logistics mechanics has been expanded with scorched earth tactics, floating seaports, and special supply units.
• Tank development. With the new module system, you can prioritize speed, firepower, armor reliability, and even production cost.
• Railway artillery. A unique and highly regarded type of heavy weapon, specifically designed for attacking trenches and fortified positions.
