Lies of P is an action/RPG with Souls-like elements and a third-person perspective. The events unfold in the gloomy city of Krat, inspired by the Belle Époque. The player controls an android named Pinocchio, who must explore the city, fight biomechanical enemies and make decisions that affect the development of the plot.
At the beginning of the game, you can choose one of three fighting styles that determine the starting characteristics and type of weapon. The arsenal includes swords, axes and other types of weapons, as well as a mechanical hand that can be equipped with various devices, including a hook and a flamethrower. Weapons are subject to wear and tear, but they can be repaired and improved.
The game features a crafting system that allows you to combine weapon parts and create new combinations with unique characteristics. The player can change Pinocchio's body parts, gaining access to additional abilities. Battles require thoughtful stamina management, parrying attacks, and using both light and heavy attacks.
After death, the character is revived at the nearest checkpoint, losing the collected valuables, which can be returned by returning to the place of death. Checkpoints are also used to improve characteristics, change equipment, and fast travel.
The game received positive reviews for its visual style, atmosphere, and thoughtful combat system, and also offers additional content in the form of DLC, expanding the story and adding new bosses.
