Railroad Tycoon 3 consists of 25 scenarios in which the player will have to repeat the magnificent feats from the history of railway development around the world. Players can lay the canvas (including through tunnels and overpasses), choose between 40 locomotives from early steam locomotives to modern high-speed trains, transport over 35 different types of cargo for the benefit of a dynamic economy, as well as play on a detailed stock exchange.
