This morning, at approximately 08:00, the LSPD SWAT team moved out in response to a critical situation on the HeavyWell A-101 drilling platform. The Vanguard for the Defenders of the Planet, a U.S. government-designated terrorist group, has claimed responsibility for the hostage incident. This situation is unfolding in the present day, and further investigation and reporting will be conducted in accordance with the federal FISA Act.
The current events on the offshore platform come shortly after the failed assassination attempt on newly elected Governor Whitfield. The Los Suenos Police Department continues to work closely with the Highway Patrol, the Protective Service, and federal authorities to ensure the Governor’s safety following the assassination that occurred at an LSPD event last month.
The LSPD’s new transportation capacity and collaboration with the California Offshore Marine Aviation Team (CAOST) Los Suenos contributed to the rapid response to the HeavyWell A-101 hostage situation. From now on, the command will be assigned a UH-60 helicopter for the transfer of troops and reconnaissance within the framework of operations.
