Resident Evil: Requiem (officially Resident Evil 9) is a major survival horror title from Capcom set to launch on February 27, 2026, marking the 30th anniversary of the franchise. The story takes place decades after the Raccoon City incident, serving as a bridge between the series' legacy and its future. The narrative follows dual protagonists: the legendary Leon S. Kennedy and newcomer Grace Ashcroft (daughter of Alyssa from RE Outbreak). While Grace investigates her mother’s disappearance at the eerie Renwood Hotel, Leon is on a mission to track down a rogue scientist linked to Umbrella's past.
The gameplay blends two distinct styles: Grace’s segments focus on traditional survival horror with resource management and stealth, while Leon’s chapters offer tactical action reminiscent of Resident Evil 4. Powered by an upgraded RE Engine, the game introduces more open urban environments and allows players to switch seamlessly between first-person and third-person perspectives. Ultimately, Requiem aims to close the long-standing Umbrella chapter while introducing a terrifying new viral threat, combining nostalgic horror elements with modern, next-gen mechanics.
