Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance is a real-time strategy game based on the Terminator: Dark Fate universe, which tells the story of the war between humanity and the Legion, a networked artificial intelligence.
In the single-player campaign, you assume the role of one of the commanders of the "Founders," an organization made up of the remnants of the US military, and lead your army in an attempt to thwart the Legion's plan to wipe out the last remnants of humanity. In skirmish and multiplayer modes, play as three completely different factions: the Founders, the Movement, and the Legion.
Take control of your army as you move from mission to mission across a series of large tactical maps. Decide on your unit selection, combat tactics, and ability usage to not only survive, but also become the leader of the resistance.
Hone your skills and military prowess by experimenting and achieving the best results.
Dynamic Battles: Realistic Tactics and Consequences of Choice
Engage in lengthy, dynamic, realistic battles where your survival and chances of victory depend solely on your tactical decisions. Use a wide range of military equipment, vehicles, and ammunition in your battles with the enemy. Recruit and train new units, develop new skills, and acquire new weapons and equipment to continue the resistance.
Experience the intensity of combat. Your tactics and choices on the battlefield have profound consequences that will impact the entire campaign: other factions and characters will either join you or become your enemies, and certain missions will be available or unavailable depending on your actions.
Your resources are limited, and you must conserve your army. Your vehicles take damage based on a modular damage system, where armor stats, component failures, and hull design influence your unit's survival.
Lead the Survival of Humanity
Recruit other groups and squads to your side and shape your army. Combine your force composition to suit your preferred combat tactics. Use infantry units, heavy armor, plasma cannon technology, repurposed civilian vehicles, homemade turret trailers, and even mercenaries to achieve victory.
Use the battlefield to your advantage! Realistic destruction physics offer an additional set of tactical options, especially in urban areas.
Multiplayer Madness: Skirmishes and Online Battles
The excitement intensifies in Skirmish and Multiplayer modes, where you can play as three unique factions: the Founders, the Movement, and the Legion.
