A key improvement in VMware Workstation 17.0 Pro is the addition of support for the Virtual Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 running Windows 11 virtual machines.

Other changes include: automatic startup of the local virtual machine when the host system boots; optional full encryption or fast encryption; support for OpenGL 4.3 (for Windows 7 and later clients, and Linux systems with Mesa 22.0.0 or kernel 5.16.0) and WDDM 1.2. Note that Workstation Pro no longer offers the option to mount the virtual disk as a host disk.
