Cut through the mountains, roam the seas and explore new lands, building large cities. Whiskerwood will show you what an ordinary mouse is capable of: you will have to create sophisticated automation systems to effectively manage complex production chains, while meeting the requirements of your furry overlords.
MASTER WHISKERWOOD
The cat kingdom has annexed new overseas lands to its possessions, and therefore ordinary mice will have to embark on a dangerous journey. Arriving on uninhabited islands rich in natural resources, the mice must quickly build a colony and prepare everything necessary to satisfy the ever-growing demands of their whiskered and tailed masters.
Cities in Whiskerwood are built on islands, and although islands can be of different sizes, you will always have to operate in limited space. Make the most of the available space: build high, piercing the skies, or burrow underground, punching holes in rocks and mountains. Verticality in Whiskerwood opens up new opportunities, but it also creates a lot of problems.
There will be a small supply of resources and a group of mice on the ship that will take you to new lands, but in order to achieve stable growth and prosperity of the colony, you will have to quickly build the main buildings, establish production and basic services. Deal with waste disposal and medical care, provide heating and repair of buildings, and then send the mice to cut down forests, mine ore, cultivate fields and fish. Cats will demand their share of the products, and your charges will begin to leave the colony if you do not provide them with proper living conditions, so you need to find a balance between the requirements of some and the needs of others.
All the settlers have unique attributes that affect their work efficiency, and each mouse belongs to one of several guilds, which determines its preferences and strengths and weaknesses. Keep this in mind when assigning a particular task to mice, and also pay attention to personal characteristics: some mice prefer to live underground or seek solitude, while others are calm about environmental pollution and feel at ease even in the neighborhood of industrial enterprises.
Build ships at the docks and equip expeditions to other islands. Those who are not afraid to venture out into pirate-infested waters will have unique opportunities, and although fighting at sea is a risky business for a mouse, the reward is worth it.
COMPLEX MODELING
The life of a pioneer is full of difficulties: far from the benefits of civilization, you will have to learn how to resist the forces of nature in order to provide your colony with everything necessary and meet the needs of its inhabitants.
The terraforming system allows you to change the landscape: dig burrows for residential buildings, dig niches in the rocks for storing materials, and dig channels from the coast to bring water to businesses. You can spend time leveling the terrain to make building easier and cheaper, or you can try to adapt to the terrain features of each procedurally generated map.
For the successful development of new lands, it is extremely important to take into account the weather conditions. On a rainy day, mice work less willingly, and a sudden cold snap can destroy crops and endanger the lives of citizens. Lay pipelines to heat the water and maintain the necessary microclimate using steam-powered systems, and dig deep burrows to store supplies for the winter.
To achieve maximum yields, the characteristics of different agricultural crops should be taken into account. Mushrooms thrive best in a damp cave, wheat requires sunlight and fertile soil, and potato fields should preferably be located high above sea level. The choice is yours.: Is it worth scouring the island far and wide in search of optimal conditions for agriculture, or is it better to use your engineering genius and bend nature to your will?
Also, do not forget about the pyramid of Myslow needs. Your citizens want to live a full life. Make sure that there is plenty of food and water, provide housing and recreation facilities for the mice, and do not forget about repairs: in a growing city, everything wears out quickly. And having satisfied basic needs, you will be faced with a choice: erect statues of your mewing masters to motivate mice to work harder and face a decline in morale, or step onto the path of protest and, declaring the happiness of citizens a priority, start building beautiful parks and fountains? The needs of your wards can be very different, and you will have to find a balance between the welfare of the population and the demands of the clawed paw hanging over you.
COMPLEX AUTOMATION AND PRODUCTION CHAINS
The mouse is not only a diligent worker, but also a savvy one. Master automation to figure out the most efficient production solutions. Advanced technologies, such as a conveyor belt that quickly moves goods over long distances, will help transform your humble colony into a steaming metropolis.
Whiskerwood features 40 types of goods that can be mined, manufactured, or purchased to ensure the prosperity of the colony and fulfill the demands of your overlords. There are raw materials such as ore, wood and wheat. There are industrial products - candles, fabrics, food supplies. And then there are luxury items, such as spices, tea, and furniture. As the colony grows, you will have to expand your economic activities to meet the growing needs of the population.
Fulfill the demands of the cats to get luxury items that are difficult to get in your colony, or try to establish trade relations with other mouse colonies and pirate leaders.
Build intricate conveyor belts, ramps, lifts, and chutes to quickly transport goods between their mining, processing, storage, and use sites. Using the same tools, you can speed up the movement of the mice themselves.: Since working hours are limited, you need to spend them as efficiently as possible.
Lay pipes through which water and steam will flow to infrastructure facilities. However, pumps, wells, radiators and ventilation shafts have a limited area of operation, so you need to carefully consider their location system to ensure coverage of the entire colony.
Build research labs to develop new technologies. New buildings, resources, and production processes will bring a brighter future for the entire mouse population.
A GAME OF CAT AND MOUSE
The patience of mice is not unlimited. The demands of cats are becoming more exorbitant day by day, and at what price all this is given to their subjects, the tailed lords do not care. Under any circumstances, you must deliver the required amount of goods, otherwise the cats will send their minions, who will harshly remind you of your duties. Will you continue to endure oppression, or will you stick out your moustache and fight back against tyrants?
