Windows Server Remote Desktop Services (RDS) Device CAL (50 devices) is a client access license that grants up to 50 devices the right to remotely connect to the GUI, applications, and virtual desktops on a Windows Server.
Windows Server RDS Device CAL allows any number of users to connect to the server from a licensed device, which is ideal for organizations with shared workspaces, such as shift schedules. The license provides access to Remote Desktop Services for working with virtual desktops (VDI), session desktops, and applications (RemoteApps). The new version includes improved security features such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), advanced encryption algorithms, and AI support for threat detection.
❓ User CAL vs. Device CAL: What's the difference?
Binding: User CAL — to the user, but works only on servers with a domain, Device CAL — to the device, works both on servers with and without a domain.
