With the release of this expansion for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, Mexicans will be playable for the first time in the franchise's history. The Mexican civilization offers a comprehensive list of new features, including two new researchers, a unique revolution mechanic, 8 units, 2 buildings, and a new home city with special Mexican cards, as well as the historical battle "Cry of Dolores." A unique system for advancing to new eras will also be introduced: to continue the civilization's development, new states must be annexed, each offering its own supply cards and various bonuses suited to different playstyles.
Historical Battle "Cry of Dolores": The Bourbon Reforms fueled the rise of the Spanish elite, while the influence of the Church was undermined. This process fueled discontent among the rural population of Mexico. When Spain fell to Napoleon Bonaparte's forces, the impassioned preaching of a Catholic priest sparked the revolution.
BONUS: Players who own the Mexican and United States civilizations can also access the historical "Battle of Queenston Heights."
